Roderick Anderson is an artist based in Perth, Western Australia.

Born in 1947 in Australia Roderick spent his early years between Canada and Australia, settling back in Perth with his mother, three sisters and brother in 1957.

Roderick attended the University of Western Australia where he was an award winning student majoring in Classics, and Fine Arts for two years at WAIT.

His varied career includes eight years as the Curator of the Robert Holmes a Court Art Collection; six years at the Art Gallery of Western Australia and was its first Registrar of Collections; an Art Critic for the Western Mail Newspaper; and an art adviser and consultant to the Western Australian State government. He also served as a Member of the Perth Zoological Gardens Board overseeing many aspects of the design of the Zoo Masterplan, and as a Member of the Western Australian Museum Board.

He has also gained a Cambridge Certificate in English Language Teaching, completed a Bachelor of Arts in Language Studies majoring in Spanish at Edith Cowan University, and attained a Certificate in Advanced Spanish from the Cuernavaca's Spanish Language Institute in Mexico.

Roderick was also a founding member of the Western Australian Maritime Heritage Association. A long time specialised model boat builder, with examples exhibited in the Western Australian Maritime Museum, Roderick's desire to go beyond his theoretical knowledge of how the running rigging worked on a square rigged ship resulted in his sailing on the 'Eye of the Wind' in 1991 from Sydney to Montevideo, rounding Cape Horn under sail.

The father of five children and grandfather to six, Roderick's interests outside of the arts include carpentry and restoration, reading, and travel.

He works mainly in oil paints, in a non-abstract and vaguely traditional manner.
